5 Tips for a Hoppin', Happy & Healthy Easter
I seriously cannot believe that we are only a few days away from Easter??? Crazy to me, where the heck did March fly away to? That month came and went so fast!!! BUT we are here, I am super excited for Easter Sunday and to get to spend time with family AND that we are getting closer to Spring & Summer!! I don't know about you but I am OVER this winter and cold weather!!
Sooooooo with that being said, we all know that holidays are great, but with the holidays comes indulging and splurging on foods we don't always eat on a daily basis. I get that, I totally do, because I definitely live by the 80/20 rule when it comes to nutrition.....because let's be honest if you restrict yourself, you will start to dislike what you are doing and not stick to it.....moderation with everything is KEY in my opinion!
I want to share with you my 5 Tips that keep me on track during holidays like Easter!! Even though I LOVE to have a little indulgence and treat here and there, I always feel tired and sick after overeating! To me it's just not worth it BUT I have a few tips to help you fight those indulges and not over do it this Easter holiday!

- Exercise!! Make sure to mark off some time on your schedule for some exercise this week/weekend before the Sunday Holiday! Even if it’s just a few short minutes, this will help you burn off excess calories!
- Balance Your Meals Out: Don’t be tempted to fill up your plate with rich, high caloric food. Instead have a tiny bit of everything, including fruits & veggies! Doing this will still get you that little bit of indulgence in moderation!
- Prepare for outings: There is no reason to totally give up your healthy eating during the holidays, all we have to do is learn to manage it a bit more carefully over the holidays!
- Stock up on Healthy Snacks: Be sure to have some healthy snacks on hand at home, that way when you are tempted you can just grab one of those to curb your craving! Also about a 1/2 hour before you leave for your event or party, have a small snack to hold you over and keep you somewhat full until dinner so you don’t find yourself munching on chips or sweets!
- Don’t over eat: I know we have always been told that we should eat everything on our plates but you are an adult now, don’t feel obligated to lick your plate clean. When you feel full, stop eating, it’s that simple!
I hope these tips will be useful and help you stay on track for this upcoming Easter Holiday and remember, everything in moderation, moderation is KEY to success in your journey!

Insanity Max 30 Results & Review
WOW I cannot believe it, I am an official Insanity Max 30 graduate!! It was a crazy hard (physically & mentally) 60 days but I LOVED every minute of it!!! This program pushed me past ALL of my limits and made me so much stronger inside and out!!
The Low Down:
I am just going to stand up and say 2 things.....#1 I SUCK at following meal plans and #2 My life has been so crazy busy with moving and building a new home that I have totally slacked with posting my weekly updates!! With that being said, I want to share my thoughts with you about Insanity Max 30.....this was by far one of the hardest programs I've done to date! ShaunT was not playing around when he created this program for sure! BUT I became so much stronger during this program inside and out!
Let's talk about the workouts.....TOUGH? Yes!! Worth it? HE** YES!!! I can 100% say (I didn't know it at the time) month 1 totally gets you ready and geared up for Month 2! The workouts incorporate cardio and strength (BUT with no weights, your body is your weight!), it's a great mix of the two! AND the best part about it is the workouts are only 30 mins. long!!! Who doesn't have time for a 30 min workout? NOW....on to Month 2, let's just say at one point during the 1st week I looked over and said to my workout buddy Alicia, 'did you notice he has talked about getting us ready for Friday Fight Round#2 in every workout this week? NOW I'm scared!!' hahahahahhahahahaha and YES there was a reason ShaunT talked about Friday Fight Round #2 all that week.......because he was preparing us for what was about to happen to our lives (as he would put it!) come Friday!!
In my 100% opinion this program is nothing short of AMAZING, which doesn't surprise me at all because everything ShaunT is amazing in my eyes! But seriously this program would be great for ALL fitness levels, age or weight! There is a modifier for every exercise/workout that is super easy to follow! NOW onto my results......one thing I will say about my results is I didn't want to lose anymore weight and my goal with this program was to tone up and gain some muscle! In all honesty I wasn't totally OFF when it came to my diet, not sure if it was stress eating sometimes or just life getting in the way but some weeks I totally sucked with my nutrition!

Yes you are probably like what the heck she gained weight!!! You are right, I did and I'm totally ok with it because I know my eating wasn't on point and that some of that weight is muscle growth that I gained and all that matters is I feel GREAT!! And I don't see a HUGE difference in my before and afters due to the weight gain so that's why I am positive it's muscle gain and not fat!
NOW I am on to my next journey/workout program which will be the 21 Day Fix Extreme by the amazing trainer Autumn Calabrese!!! If you've heard of the 21 Day Fix then you know who Autumn is and you will know that by adding the words Extreme after 21 Day Fix, she is NOT playing around!! I have done a few sample workouts from the program and will officially start on April 6th BUT until then I am going to play around with the new Beachbody OnDemand this week!!! AND even though I have acknowledged I totally SUCK at following a strict meal plan, I am vowing to follow the 21 Day Fix Extreme meal plan for the 21 Days!!! We are MOVING!!!
First off I just want to apologize for being a little M.I.A. lately!!! It's been a little crazy the past few weeks because we are MOVING!! Our house is sold and we close at the end of April!!! Eeeeekkk!!!!
We are super excited but also a little sad, this was our 1st house and we have many memories here!!! Some of my favorites actually -----> bringing our puppy, Rocco, home (who is now 6 yrs old!).....getting engaged while living here.....and getting MARRIED while being here!! We've had a GREAT life here but it is time for us to move on and build our family and our dreams!
It's going to be a crazy, hectic few months.......we have decided to build our dream home (it brings tears of joy to my eyes just saying this), that both of us could never have even imagined we'd be saying that EVER!! But we are ready/excited/nervous and blessed to have the opportunity to be able to build the life we've always wanted!
I will keep you updated along the journey of course (the good, bad and the ugly!) and just want you to know that if you don't hear from me as often as normal it's because I have ALOT on my plate.....but I am here for you anytime you need and I am just a message/email away!! This is just the beginning of me sharing this NEW journey with you and can't wait to share more!!!
